2 Peter 3:9 " Instead God is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Acts 2:42-47 - They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Press Play – When the storms come
    Mark 4:35-41

Series idea – Learning to work from rest when life presses play.

Message idea – How to rest when the storms and stresses of life press play.
Stress: defined as an outside force that causes a change in shape or direction

Question for the day: Who is in your boat?
    1)  The stress of the storm revealed the true beliefs of the disciples.
    Mark 4:35-41

    2)  Abiding with God before the storm gives us strength and wisdom in the storm.
    Mark 1-3
Don’t tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is. A.W. Tozer (pursuit of God)

    3)  Abiding with God in the storm gives us peace through the storm.
    2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Brother Lawerence (Practicing the Presence of God) “The time of business does not with me differ from the time of prayer; and in the noise and clatter of my kitchen, while several persons are at the same time calling for different things, I possess God in as great tranquility as if I were upon my knees before the Blessed Sacrament.”
    4)  The purpose of the storm is to bring glory to God.

Press Play is about being proactive instead of reactive.

We were design to work from our rest, not rest from our work.

John 15:1-2 - I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

John 15:4 - Remain in me as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Abide - to bear patiently, to wait, and to accept without obligation

John 15:4 ESV - Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

John 15: 9 - 11 - As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 15:12 - This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you

John 15: 13-15 - Greater love as no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Genesis 2:15 – The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden to work it and keep it.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you
